The Peoples Funeral Home was established in May 1965 at 913 Brownsferry Street, Athens, AL. It was founded by Homer Lamar Moses, Charles Nichols, Hubert Ward, and Bennett E. Higgins. On August 29, 1993, it was relocated and became the Peoples Funeral Home of North Alabama, Incorporated at 12060 Highway 31 South with Bennett E. Higgins and Hubert Ward as the owners.
