Ava Karvonen was an Executive Producer on Kyle Ball’s feature film SKINMARINK that was released on January 13 at 700 theatres worldwide and was the #11 top grossing movie on opening weekend. It will launch on AMC’s SHUDDER this month as the theatrical release continues around the world. WOCHIIGII LO: END OF THE PEACE was produced with filmmaker Heather Hatch and we travelled to TIFF in 2021 for the world premiere. Our film went on to screen at another 18 festivals including Australia’s Birarranga Indigenous Film Festival in the spring of 2023. COVID presented many challenges but there has been a “silver lining”. We’ve been working with Lily Pictures Producer Michelle Morris (RED SNOW, BEEHIVE), Writer/Director Anne Wheeler (BYE BYE BLUES, COWBOYS DON’T CRY), Executive Producer Kim Todd (HANDMAIDS TALE, FARGO) on developing the feature film, WHEN I SING. Mongrel Media is on board as our Canadian distributor and Parallel Films as our Irish partner. We were invited to pitch the project at the International Finance Forum held during TIFF 2022.
