Welcome

Welcome to the internet home of the Rutland County RC Flyers. The Rutland County RC Flyers are dedicated model aviation enthusiasts that fly during the warmer months at the site of the former Fair Haven Municipal Airport, in Fair Haven, VT.  The club has been an officially chartered club with the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) since 1991. We are part of AMA's District-1, which includes all AMA clubs in New England.

We welcome visitors to our field anytime we're flying. We're there almost any day that conditions allow during the warmer months.

You can stay tuned for our latest activities right here, or visit us on our Facebook Group. You don't have to have a FB account to view posts on the club's Facebook Group, so it's open to all.

Fun Fly Look-Ahead

Long-time club member and Fun Fly announcer Dave Dress was able to garner a terrific prize for our July Fun-Fly...an E-flite model of a Beech D18. This is a beautifully crafted model featuring a 1.5 meter wingspan, retractable gear, and that unmistakable twin tail. Thank you Dave for your efforts! We can't wait for our annual event!

Flying this Week

We enjoyed a great turnout on Friday this week. We had it all: low winds, abundant sunshine, tons of awesome flights, and the usual array of hangar talk! There's talk of doing it all again on Saturday this weekend, and looking ahead to Tuesday next week, as well.

It's time to bring out the old and new, dust of your favorite aircraft, and get 'em to the airfield. Thanks again to the group that helped get our field back in great shape. Even us UMX-type pilots were able to land without mishaps...well...nothing major, anyway!

Learn to Fly!

Have you always wanted to give flying radio control aircraft a try? Come see us! We have qualified instructors and a training aircraft available at the field to give you an introductory hands-on flight. Should you then decide you'd like to pursue this hobby, we'd love to have you join us!
