CAR SEATS SAVE LIVES

National Statistics

In 2018, there were 675 children under the age of 10 who were killed in crashes.

In 2018, there were 344 children under the age of 5 who were killed in crashes.

Of those, almost 30% were unrestrained or restraint use was unknown.

99.4% of children under 1 year of age rode in the rear seat.

Because of restraint use, there were nearly1,300 children under the age of 5 who survived a fatal crash.

Based on data, we do know that restraint use saves lives.

DID YOU KNOW??
STOP SIGNS from the late 1920's until 1954 were Yellow

Yes, yellow was the standard color for stop signs for nearly 30 years. In fact, the red stop sign has only been the standard for the last 60 years. Before then, the octagonal traffic sign was yellow, with the word STOP in black letters. It wasn’t until 1954 that the stop sign became the bright red color, adorned with white letters that we now know today. This change also served to distinguish the regulatory stop sign from yellow warning signs, and also made the color consistent with that of red traffic signal indications, which for decades had used red to signal "stop".   From Triviatoday.com
