TADSAW Mission

The TADSAW, INC. mission is to provide for the training of a Medical Alert Service Dog, as designated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990/2010 guidelines, for any wounded Veteran Service Member (Active Duty. Retired, Discharged) surviving with Military Induced Anxiety Depression Syndrome (MIADS), post traumatic stress disorder (ptsd), Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and/or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), in order to restore and improve the Veteran’s Quality of Life with a canine ‘Battle Buddy’, at NO CHARGE  to the Veteran or the family.  The ‘Elevator Speech” or short version of the TADSAW Mission Statement is to provide for the training of a Medical Alert Service Dog to improve a person’s Quality of Life and PREVENT SUICIDE!

May is Military Appreciation Month. It is a time designated to honor and recognize the contributions, sacrifices, and service of the members of the armed forces, past and present. Suicide Prevention

This year, TADSAW is revising the narrative to destigmatize the client’s medical conditions and focus on improving the client’s Quality of Life and Prevent Suicide with TADSAW’s Participant Trained Service Dog (PTSD) programs. TADSAW has always been available 24/7 365 and remains this way.

Since July 2010, TADSAW has processed over 17,900 Veteran applications, and that equates to over 17,000 Suicide Interventions, as the Veteran reached out to get information on how to move forward with improving their Quality of Life, with a Medical Alert Service Dog, as opposed to the existing therapies offered thru the VA system. And as per  evidence based research based on PRO (Patient Reported Outcomes), TADSAW has accredited over 1,480 Medical Alert Service Dog Teams, and this means over 1,480 SUICIDES PREVENTED.

There is evidence that the over emphasis of mental health/mental illness condition  actually causes many individuals not to seek treatment due to the stigmatization of the medical condition. TADSAW seeks to destigmatize the anxiety and depression caused by occupational or environmental factors towards a behavioral issue, which will allow more individuals to come forward and get assistance.
