Natural gathering places for meeting with friends, meeting new friends, exchanging ideas and engaging in lively debate.

It was inevitable then that a group of friends sitting in a pub discussing photography, cameras and technique, would hit upon the idea of running digital photography workshops - at the pub! Why not incorporate the ideal social gathering place with the ideal learning methodology - lecture, discussion, exchange of ideas and hands-on application.

With that in mind, we have created the "Shots Pub Series". A collection of digital photography workshops that will run once a week over a 5 - 6 week period. Each class date runs for three hours. Two hours of structured lecture followed by one hour of informal Q&A and idea exchange. The registration cost for each program includes two complimentary drinks (beer or wine) as well as appetizers. The program will be run in a private room at the pub - so no worries about unruly patrons.

Due to the pub setting of these programs, we need to ask that anyone who enrolls be 21 years of age or older.

At present, our flagship pub for running this program. The idea was born at this traditional Irish pub and the atmosphere here is great!

There are additional Curragh locations in Holland, Michigan and in Chicago, Illinois. Each Curragh pub is made up of a number of parts that all add up to a distinctively different and wonderful experience for our guests.

The staff, the design, the Irish bric-a-brac, the drink, the food, the music, and the name create a sense of Irish history that people enjoy visiting time and again. Choosing the right name for our pub was extremely important. We wanted our name to tell a lot about our pub. The Curragh is headquarters of Flat Racing in Ireland. Written evidence of racing dates back to the third century when chariot races were held at the "Cuireach" – Gaelic word for racecourse, on the lands known today as the Curragh Racecourse and Training Grounds. The Curragh hosts all five Classic Races and up to thirteen other quality race days. It is owned and managed by the Irish Turf Club, founded in Kildare in the 1760’s.

Mike Wasowicz Mike is an experienced photographer with over 30 years behind the camera lens and has been teaching photography programs for the past 10 years. In addition to enjoying photography as a hobby, Mike has worked professionally as a forensic and crime scene photographer and has extensive experience with a variety of film and digital cameras.

Know Your Camera At present, our only program but one that is a must for anyone needing to learn more about the myriad of controls on today's digital SLR's. Are you still shooting in the Program or Automatic mode without understanding what your camera is really doing? Let us help you learn how to use the other 95% of your camera's capabilities to become a more creative photographer. This program is suitable for someone who is just starting out or who simply wants to learn more about what their camera can do.

You can register for any available program through our on-line store. The registration cut-off date is one week before the scheduled start of the program. We accept payment through PayPal including credit card payments.

Attendees will need to bring their own digital SLR camera and flash.

Remember - you must be 21 or over to attend!

Refund & Cancellation Policy

No refunds are given after the registration cut-off date (7 days prior to the scheduled program start). These programs are run in small groups and it is important for us to know that we have met our minimum registration number for any particular workshop.

Refund requests may be made by calling us at 847-804-8420, or sending us an e-mail at customercare@shotspubseries.com. Complete refunds will be given when the requests are made within the specified time limit.
