Jonathan Martin

A Purpose Driven Entrepreneur

Perennially the hardest worker in the room, Jonathan Martin remotely earned a graduate degree from Georgetown University while helping to found two companies in the Austin real estate sector. As a Founding Partner alongside two Stanford graduates, Jonathan served as CFO and the Head of Asset Management for the Narrow Road Group, a developer platform for Austin, TX. Together, with one of those very same Stanford alums and a University of Texas graduate familiar with the area, Jonathan served as a Co-Founder of Treehorn Properties, a wholesaling platform focused on Central Texas. As a leader at these companies, Jonathan drove rapid growth for both businesses within just a few years, even while navigating the effects of the 2020 pandemic.

An Accomplished Scholar

Jonathan Martin holds a Masters in Real Estate and Finance (M.P.S.) from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Stanford University. He majored in classics with a concentration in Ancient History while simultaneously earning All-American honors (twice) as a member of the Stanford Cardinal Football Team.

A Champion for Financial Inclusion and Empowerment

Jonathan enrolled in Wharton Business School to understand the effects of monetary policy on communities, and is currently in El Salvador writing for CoinDesk, a leading digital finance and Web3 news publication, and studying the real world impact of alternative assets like Bitcoin. With a background in monetary policy, Jonathan sees Bitcoin as an important tool in the fight against structural injustices and the best path forward for empowering lower income, minority and marginalized groups.

A Leader In The Community

Jonathan Martin is dedicated to uplifting his communities. During his time in the NFL, he served his local chapter of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Florida. Jonathan also worked closely with Beyond Differences, speaking to schools about bullying and ways to create a more inclusive environment.

Jonathan’s Football Career

Jonathan Martin played Division 1 college football at Stanford University, where he twice earned All-American and 1st Team All PAC 12 honors. He was also a finalist for the Lombardi Award. As an offensive left tackle, Jonathan protected Andrew Luck during his historic seasons in passing efficiency on the Cardinal’s way to winning the 2010 Orange Bowl. Jonathan was drafted in the second round by the Dolphins and played in the NFL for three years, starting 32 games.

His Work With the CLF

Given his lifelong love of the game of football, Jonathan supports research aimed at improving the safety of the sport. Jonathan works closely with the Concussion Legacy Foundation to advocate for player safety, aid in research and honor the memory of two teammates who experienced CTE. Jonathan knows firsthand the physical and emotional rigors of performing at the highest level and seeks to help others enjoy the sport they love in a safe and supportive way.

A Deep Passion for Bitcoin

Jonathan views Bitcoin as a solution for many of the inequalities in our current world financial system. He believes that Bitcoin has the potential to serve as a future global reserve currency, and that it represents the first iteration of the separation of Money and State. Jonathan works to share his passion with others, and encourage them to explore Bitcoin as a hedge against sovereign defaults (not financial advice).

Jonathan Martin’s journey is one of positive transformation, resilience and leadership, ignited by a passion to serve others and make the tools of financial empowerment accessible to all.

“One thing that’s never changed, I will always be the hardest worker in any room.”
