It was formed in 1997 by a multi disciplinary international team united in develop innovative ways of doing responsible business online from technological opportunities on Information Society Technologies.

Originally established as Multifinancial Capital S.L. in Barcelona, Spain, MUFICATA is a Catalonian Information Technology and Communication (ITC) SME. Since 1990, MUFICATA has evolved from its roots as a Strategic Corporate Finance Consulting firm, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions, to provide comprehensive financial, strategic, and managerial consultancy services to Industrial SMEs in the Barcelona region.

Embracing the burgeoning opportunities of the Internet, MUFICATA underwent a transformative reengineering process, emerging as a respected Systems and Information Technologies Consulting firm. Leveraging its expertise, MUFICATA has actively engaged in trans-European collaborations and business ventures, with a keen focus on Internet technologies, standards, and Knowledge Management (KM).

In 2004, MUFICATA played a pivotal role in founding CONSEN Euro-Group EEIG, raised from the European project "CONSEN Coordinate Open Neural-points Space of E-centers Network", alongside four other SMEs from Estonia, Italy, Poland, and Belgium, further solidifying its commitment to fostering cooperative endeavors and driving innovation on a European scale.
