MINT HILL – Town commissioners approved a rezoning April 11 that will allow a funeral home to be built on nearly five acres at 7844 McWhirter Road after hearing from a procession of neighbors weighing in on the project. 

MATTHEWS – The expansion of Oaklore Distilling Co., has not been as smooth as ownership had hoped due in part to the future widening of N.C. 51 by the N.C. Department of Transportation.

MATTHEWS – Greater Matthews Habitat for Humanity is focusing on neighborhood preservation and restoration through its second Rock the Block event April 19 in Mint Hill.
