  • This episode of “Just Jazz” shines the spotlight on J.J. Johnson, the centenary of whose birth occurred earlier this year. He was the first and the greatest of the trombonists who came of age during the bebop era. Tune in to hear a baker’s dozen performances selected from his half-century career, which spanned the period from the first Jazz at The Philharmonic concert in 1944 until his retirement from performing in the late 1990s.

On this edition of The Jazz Legacy we’ll hear Bobby in duets with five piano masters: Herbie Hancock, Kenny Barron, Tommy Flanagan, Geri Allen, and with McCoy Tyner, on the only full-length duets album Bobby ever recorded, Manhattan Moods.

Ogbar, in this episode we examine the methods in which Black Atlanteans pushed for social, economic, and political upliftment through the development of Black collegiate systems, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement.

  • In this conversation, David Chalmers, a professor of philosophy at New York University, discusses the topics of virtual reality, artificial intelligence (AI), and consciousness. He explores the potential of virtual reality in daily life, the challenges of balancing virtual reality with real-world experiences, and the role of corporations and grassroots movements in shaping virtual worlds. Chalmers also delves into the integration of AI in daily life, the limitations of understanding AI consciousness, and the concept of reality and simulation. He emphasizes the importance of self-consciousness and mindfulness and discusses ongoing projects in testing theories of consciousness.
